How to Transfer Ethereum from Coinbase to MetaMask?

Coinbase is one of the largest regulated crypto exchanges in the United States as of now. Most people are interested in investing in several new technologies such as NFTs, DeFi, Metaverse, and many other assets. But, they don’t know how to use the platforms to transfer and invest in the particular category.

If you have your Ethereum (ETH) in the Coinbase and want to transfer it to MetaMask for whatever purpose, we are going to provide a step-by-step guide for transferring Ethereum from Coinbase to MetaMask.

Coinbase to MetaMask ETH Transfer: 

Step 1:

  • Visit Coinbase Website
  • You must have a Coinbase account to sign in. If you don’t have one, then first create your account.
  • Assuming that you have a Coinbase account so type your email and password and click Sign In.

Step 2:

Once you have signed in then

  • Coinbase will take you to the dashboard
  • You can see a few sections on the left side of your screen

There will be an option ‘Assets’. Click on it:

Step 3:

In the Assets section, Find Ethereum that you have bought:

  • Find ETH

Step 4:

  • Click on the Ethereum that you have found
  • Send and Receive tabs appear

Step 5:

  • After clicking Send, you could see the amount, To, Note, and Pay with fields.
  • Leave the ‘Note’ field, which is optional, and the ‘Pay with’ field, which is a default one.
  • In the Amount field, enter the amount of Ethereum you want to send.

Step 6:

Paste the MetaMask wallet address

To Copy the MetaMask wallet Address,

  • Go to MetaMask extension
  • Enter the password to unlock the wallet

Copy the wallet address by clicking the above ETH balance (See the picture below for reference)

Now, in the ‘To’ field, you need to paste your MetaMask wallet address.

Step 7:

  • Once you have pasted the MetaMask wallet Address, you can click on Continue

Look for Gas Fees, if it seems reasonable then proceed.

Note*: Make sure that you’re adding the right wallet address, if you sent crypto to the wrong address then you will not get it back. Be vigilant when copying your wallet address:

Step 8:

  • Once you click continue, a confirmation box will pop up.
  • In this box, you can check all details including the gas fees. Recheck all the details and then click Send Now

If you’ve enabled the 2-step verification process, you can click on Send now and It will ask you to type code. Type it and click confirm.

Step 9:

After sending, you could see a Sent notification pop-up in Coinbase. Now, head back to your MetaMask wallet extension and see your wallet balance on the front preview itself.
